This $5.6 million electrical project in downtown Dallas involved the renovation of an existing 33-story building. The 23rd through 31st floors were repurposed as hotel guest rooms. The 32nd floor included a pool, fitness room and meeting rooms. The project also included entryway and plaza level upgrades and electric charging stations for electric or hybrid vehicles. A dedicated cooling system for data/telephone equipment room was connected to emergency electrical distribution systems and was equipped to function during building-wide power failure.
Designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, the building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2015. Originally conceived in the 1950’s, the buildings footprint occupies 1/3 of the 2.4 acre property, almost a full city block.
