About This Project

The DFW International Airport Data Center & Terminal D North + South UPS Replacement project involved replacing five UPS units with new Li-ION batteries and updating the Maintenance Bypass Switches (MBS). Existing equipment was either turned over to DFW or properly disposed of, and new power distribution equipment was installed. Primary and secondary wiring was fully replaced, with existing conduits reused or rerouted as necessary. The project also included network integration for monitoring through DFW’s Building Automation System and fire alarm system. Value engineering measures were evaluated, including reusing existing MBS units and assessing the reuse of wiring based on condition and length. The completed project encompassed approximately 2,500 square feet and was delivered at a total cost of $2 million.
