Terminal C Utility Corridor was a critical utility infrastructure upgrade for the Phase II and Phase III renovation of DFW Airport’s Terminal C. CESG’s scope included installing electric, low voltage, communications, and security systems across 3,000 linear feet of new chilled water, hot water, and PCA (pre-conditioned air) feeds beneath the existing Air Tran slab and in the Terminal C Tunnel. A new utility tunnel and Boiler/Pump House were constructed, with extensive abatement performed in the existing tunnels to support the expansion. To meet increased heating and hot water needs, CESG built a direct-buried utility trench under the lower-level roadway sidewalk, enhancing capacity to support Terminal C’s growth. Site work and utility installations were significant, with construction starting in late summer 2023 and continued for approximately 14 months. The total project cost surpassed $9 million, encompassing approximately 60,000 square feet of new and renovated utility infrastructure.
